The costume design was developed around the idea of repetition and the circular structure of Schnitzler’s text. A restricted palette of red, black and white was used as a visual code of desire, power and exposure, while the recurring patterned textile functions as a unifying element that connects the different encounters.
Silhouettes reveal and conceal the body at the same time, turning each appearance into a variation of the same ritual. The garments operate as performative objects, intensifying the physicality of the actors and the mechanical rhythm of the dramaturgy.
